Frequently Asked Questions

What size turnout blanket should I order for my horse?

Measure your horse from the center of the chest to the center of the rump. The HILASON 1200D comes in sizes 66, 68, 69, 70, 72, 74, 75, 76, 78, 80, 81, 82, and 84 inches. Select the closest size to your horse's measurement. For example, if your horse measures 76 inches, order size 75; if your horse measures 70 inches, order size 69. The expandable panel near the front legs provides additional tailored fit.

Is this turnout blanket waterproof and breathable?

Yes. The 1200D rip-stop polyester shell is fully waterproof and breathable, designed to shed rain and snow while allowing moisture vapor to escape. This prevents moisture buildup inside the blanket while keeping your horse dry during cold, wet winter weather.

How much insulation does this winter blanket have?

This turnout blanket features 300-gram poly fill insulation, providing steady warmth for freeze season and extended cold weather turnout without excessive bulk. The fleece padding at the withers adds extra comfort and protection at pressure points.

Can I use this blanket for everyday turnout?

Yes. The HILASON 1200D is designed for daily winter turnout use. The removable elastic leg straps allow easy on-and-off handling, the belly wrap system stays secure during movement, and the double-stitched, taped seams withstand active grazing and daily barn work.

What is the difference between a turnout blanket and a fly sheet?

A turnout blanket provides insulation and weatherproof protection for cold seasons and harsh conditions. A fly sheet offers lightweight UV and fly protection for warm weather turnout. They serve different purposes - turnout blankets keep horses warm and dry in winter, while fly sheets protect from sun and insects in summer.

Does this blanket come with a hood or neck cover?

This blanket does not include a hood or neck cover, but it features dees on both sides that allow you to attach compatible hood or neck covers separately for extended protection in extreme cold or wind.
