    Stand your horse square. With a soft tape, measure from the center of the chest along the side to the center of the tail. That number, in inches, tells you which size to order. Each size covers a three-inch range; we ship the size in the chart, so a 76" horse gets the 75".

    Are these blankets waterproof?

    The shell is waterproof and breathable. Like every waterproof blanket, the coating wears with use and washing, so re-proof with a spray treatment each season.

    What is the difference between 600D and 1200D?

    Denier is fabric thickness. 1200D is the tougher shell for hard-use turnout and rough pastures; 600D suits lighter use and milder winters.

    Do I need a neck cover?

    If your horse is clipped, an older horse, or you see wind-driven rain and sub-freezing temperatures, yes. Otherwise a standard neck plus a separate hood works.

    How does the bundle discount work?

    It is automatic: add 2 items for 5% off, 3 for 7%, 4 or more for 10%. Blankets and neck covers ship free by ground in the lower 48, typically 3–5 business days. Mix any sizes and colors. A 1200D blanket with a neck cover is one combo item at $128.99, so it counts as one item toward the bundle discount. On 600D styles the combo is $118.99 ($10 less); the neck cover is added to the blanket and does not count toward the quantity discount. The discount shows at checkout, no code needed.

    What is your return policy on blankets?

    Returns for fit or a fault: postmarked within 30 days of delivery, unused and in the original packaging, with a Return Authorization (email sales@hilason.com or call (713) 972-0404 or 1-888-HILASON before sending anything back). There is no restocking fee on winter blankets or neck covers. Because blankets are worn by animals, a blanket that has been used cannot be returned. The customer pays return shipping. If an item arrived faulty or fails in normal use, that is a warranty claim (see below) and we cover the shipping on approved claims.

    What does the 1-year warranty cover?

    Hilason winter blankets carry a 1-year limited workmanship warranty against manufacturing defects in stitching, seams, buckles and hardware under normal use. It does not cover damage caused by the horse (chewing, pulling or tearing by teeth or hooves), misuse or mishandling, improper size or fit, normal wear and tear, or wear of the waterproof coating. We will repair, replace or refund covered items at our option. To start a claim, email sales@hilason.com or call (713) 972-0404 or 1-888-HILASON with your order number and photos. We respond within 1 business day.

    Full warranty terms (1-year limited workmanship warranty)

    Covered: for one year from the delivery date, for the original purchaser, defects in materials or workmanship in stitching, seams, buckles, snaps and other hardware, under normal use for the product's intended purpose, including in cold weather.

    Not covered: damage caused by the horse or other animals (chewing, pulling, kicking or tearing by teeth, hooves or herd mates); misuse or mishandling; improper size or fit; accidents, fire, fencing, wire or sharp objects; normal wear and tear and fading; gradual loss of waterproofing (re-proof each season); damage from improper washing, repair or modification.

    Remedy: repair, replacement or refund of the covered item at our option. This is the sole remedy and we are not liable for incidental or consequential damages (some states do not allow this exclusion).

    How long does shipping take?

    Blankets and neck covers ship free by ground in the lower 48 states. Delivery is typically 3 to 5 business days from the day you order, handling included.

    What if a buckle or snap breaks in the cold?

    Hardware that fails under normal use is covered by the 1-year limited warranty, including in extreme cold. Contact us with your order number and photos (see Full warranty terms). We will repair, replace or refund the item at our option. Damage caused by the horse (chewing, pulling or tearing) is not covered.

    Any tips for using the blanket in freezing weather?

    Clear ice and snow from buckles and snaps before you open them, and thaw frozen straps instead of forcing them. Hardware is more brittle when it is very cold, so open and close it gently.

    Which neck cover size do I need?

    Medium fits blanket sizes 66" to 76". Large fits 78" to 84". Matching neck covers in the same color are available for most styles, sold separately or together with the blanket. Where one is in stock, tick "Add matching neck cover" and we pick the right size.

    How much fill is in the blanket?

    The 1200D heavyweight blankets are 300g and the 600D blankets are 200g, both filled with dense, compressed poly fill. Fill for other styles is shown on each product page.

    How do I tell 600D from 1200D?

    Each card shows the denier on the photo. 1200D is the heavy-duty ripstop shell; 600D is a lighter shell for milder use and lower prices.

    What if my horse is between sizes?

    Use the size chart: each size covers a three-inch range (for example, a horse that measures 76" takes the 75"). Styles also have adjustable front closures and belly wraps to dial in the fit.
