Frequently Asked Questions

How do I measure my horse for the correct blanket size?

Measure from the center of your horse's chest along the shoulder and side to the point of the hip where the blanket should end. Most blankets are sized in 2-inch increments. HILASON offers 66 to 84-inch sizes. If your horse needs a size between, select the next smaller size - the expandable front leg section allows tailored fit adjustment.

Is this turnout blanket truly waterproof?

Yes. The 1200 Denier polyester outer shell features waterproof rip-stop fabric. The breathable construction allows moisture vapor to escape while water cannot penetrate, keeping your horse dry during rain and snow turnout.

Can I leave this blanket on my horse day and night?

Yes, this winter turnout blanket is designed for daily and overnight barn and pasture use. The 300-gram poly fill provides consistent warmth without overheating in milder weather. However, check your horse regularly for sweating and adjust based on temperature changes and individual needs.

What temperature range is this blanket suitable for?

The 300-gram fill is designed for cold to freezing conditions - typically 20 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. In mild winters or spring weather, your horse may overheat. Always monitor your horse and adjust as weather changes throughout winter.

Is this blanket handmade?

HILASON blankets are crafted with careful attention to construction quality and durability testing. Each blanket features double-stitched, taped seams and reinforced construction designed to withstand seasons of daily turnout use at an economical price point.
