Frequently Asked Questions

How do I measure my horse for the right blanket size?

Measure your horse from the center of the chest to the point of the buttocks along the side, in a straight line parallel to the ground. This measurement in inches is your blanket size. The HILASON 1200D includes an expandable section near the front legs for a tailored fit. If your horse measures between standard sizes, round up by one size.

Is the HILASON 1200D waterproof turnout blanket truly waterproof?

Yes. The 1200 Denier polyester outer shell is waterproof with sealed, double-stitched seams that have been lab-tested to withstand extreme rain and water pressure. The breathable rip-stop fabric allows moisture vapor to escape so your horse stays dry from both outside moisture and sweat.

What is the difference between a turnout blanket and a fly sheet?

A turnout blanket is designed for cold-weather protection with thick insulation, waterproofing, and warmth retention for winter pasture use. A fly sheet is a lightweight, breathable summer sheet for UV and fly protection during warm months. They solve different seasonal needs and should not be used interchangeably.

Can I wash the HILASON 1200D blanket, and how should I care for it?

Yes, the blanket can be hand-washed or machine-washed on a gentle cycle in cool water with mild soap. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Hang dry or lay flat to dry completely before storage. Check straps and hardware periodically for wear, and repair or replace as needed to extend blanket life.

Does this blanket come with a removable neck cover or hood?

The HILASON 1200D does not include a neck cover or hood, but it features side dees and attachment points that allow you to easily add them as optional accessories. Many riders customize their setup based on their horse's needs and regional winter severity.

Is the HILASON 1200D handmade?

Yes. Each HILASON 1200D turnout blanket is handcrafted with attention to quality construction, reinforced seams, and durable materials. This handmade approach ensures consistent quality and durability without the premium price tag of luxury brands.
