Frequently Asked Questions
Is this fly mask real leather?
No, the Cashel Crusader Fly Mask is made from soft coated nylon micromesh, not leather. It is designed for lightweight breathability and UV protection.
How do I measure my mule or donkey for this fly mask?
Measure from the poll to the muzzle and around the head behind the ears. This mask is designed for animals with a long nose and 13-inch ears. Refer to the product details for exact sizing.
Will this fly mask fit a standard horse?
No, this mask is specifically shaped for mules, donkeys, and foals with a longer muzzle and larger ears. For horses, see the regular Cashel Crusader Fly Mask.
Does the patented three-hole cap really prevent forelock damage?
Yes. The design keeps the mask from twisting and rubbing the forelock, reducing hair breakage and irritation. It is a US patented feature (6,128,891).
Can I use this mask during the day for UV protection?
Absolutely. The soft coated nylon micromesh blocks 70% of UV rays, making it suitable for daytime turnout to protect delicate eye and forehead tissues.
