Frequently Asked Questions

Is the HILASON bull riding vest approved for professional rodeo events?

The HILASON protective vest is designed to meet industry safety standards for rodeo impact protection. Check with your specific rodeo organization or event sanctioning body (PRCA, NBHA Texas, etc.) for their approved vest list, as requirements vary by event and organization.

How do I measure for the correct bull riding vest size?

Measure around the widest point just below your armpits for chest size, and measure just above your hips for waist size. The vest should fit snugly but not restrict breathing. Standard dimensions are chest 40 inches and waist 34 inches - measure yourself and compare to available sizing to ensure proper fit.

What is the Cordura material and why is it used in protective vests?

Cordura is a high-performance fabric known for exceptional durability and abrasion resistance. It withstands repeated impact and sliding without tearing, making it ideal for rodeo protective gear. The material is lightweight yet durable, providing protection without excessive bulk that restricts movement.

Can I wear this bull riding vest over a helmet or with a face mask?

Yes, the HILASON vest is highly recommended for riders who wear helmets or face masks during competition. The contoured fit and flexible design accommodate additional head and face protection without interference or bunching.

What kind of maintenance does the HILASON protective vest require?

Cordura and shock-absorbing padding require minimal maintenance. Spot-clean with mild soap and cool water, then air-dry completely. Avoid machine washing and high heat. The laced side adjustments can be cleaned separately. Proper storage in a cool, dry location extends vest lifespan.

Is this vest suitable for barrel racing or just bull riding?

While designed primarily for bull riding and contact rodeo events, the HILASON protective vest can be worn during barrel racing training if you prefer extra impact protection. However, barrel racing does not typically require protective vests - use based on your personal comfort and training needs.
