Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a treeless saddle different from a traditional western saddle?

A treeless saddle has no rigid wooden or synthetic tree structure, allowing it to flex and adapt to your horse's unique back shape. This reduces pressure points, promotes natural movement, and allows horses to engage their back muscles more effectively. Treeless saddles are lighter and accommodate a wider range of horse shapes and conformations.

What types of riding can I use this treeless saddle for?

This HILASON treeless western saddle is versatile and suitable for trail riding, barrel racing, pleasure riding, and endurance work. The flexible design supports responsive performance across multiple disciplines without restricting shoulder movement.

What size horse does this saddle fit?

This saddle fits horses with a 6 to 8-inch gullet size. The treeless design adapts well to horses with high withers, wide shoulders, and unusual back conformation that may be difficult to fit with traditional saddles. Available in 15" and 16" seat sizes.

Is this saddle handmade?

Yes, each HILASON saddle is handcrafted one at a time by experienced craftspeople. The full-grain harness leather is hand-tooled with sunflower carving and finished in antique tan, delivering quality construction built to withstand seasons of hard daily use.

What is included with this saddle?

This treeless saddle comes with a matching front cinch strap and anti-slip stirrups. The cinch strap allows you to secure the saddle using a standard western cinching system.

How much does this saddle weigh?

This HILASON treeless western saddle weighs approximately 21 lbs, making it lighter than traditional saddles with rigid trees. The reduced weight decreases fatigue for both horse and rider during long rides.
