Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes does this HILASON winter turnout blanket come in?

Available in 13 sizes: 66, 68, 69, 70, 72, 74, 75, 76, 78, 80, 81, 82, and 84 inches. The expandable section near the front legs tailors fit to horses whose measurements fall between sizes. Order size 75 for a 76-inch horse; select size 69 for a 70-inch horse.

How do I measure my horse for the right winter blanket size?

Measure from the center of your horse's chest to the center of the hindquarters using a soft measuring tape. Round to the nearest inch. Match that measurement to the size chart if your horse measures 70 inches, order size 69; if 76 inches, order size 75. The expandable front section adjusts for individual fit.

Is this turnout blanket truly waterproof?

Yes. The 1200 denier polyester outer shell features waterproof, breathable rip-stop fabric that sheds rain and snow while preventing moisture from building up inside the blanket. This design keeps your horse warm and dry through winter weather.

Can this blanket be used in extremely cold temperatures?

Yes. The 300-gram poly fill insulation is designed for freezing conditions typical of winter pasture turnout. The fleece at the withers and insulated tail flaps prevent cold air entry and maintain stable body temperature in subzero weather.

What is a belly wrap system and why does this blanket have one?

The belly wrap system consists of adjustable straps that secure around the horse's midsection, preventing the blanket from shifting during movement or turnout. Combined with shoulder gussets, this system ensures a custom fit across different horse body types and keeps the blanket stable in pasture.

How durable are the seams on this winter blanket?

The HILASON blanket features double-stitched, taped, and reinforced seams throughout, making it more resistant to premature breakdown than many competitor products at higher price points. The Persian twisted woven taffeta lining adds internal durability for seasons of daily winter use.
