Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a rodeo safety vest different from a regular protective vest?

A rodeo safety vest like the HILASON is engineered specifically for saddle sports. It features shorter front panels to support arm movement needed for barrel turns and roping, elongated lower back padding to protect the tailbone during sudden stops, and strategically compartmentalized padding in high-impact zones. It is designed to work seamlessly with helmets and face masks used in competition.

How do I measure for the correct size?

Measure the vest around the widest point just below your armpits for the chest measurement - this determines size. Then measure the waist just above your hips. The HILASON vest is designed to fit snug but not tight. Available sizes range from X Small to XXX Large.

Is this safety vest suitable for beginners to protective gear?

Yes. The HILASON rodeo safety vest is recommended for riders new to protective equipment. The adjustable laced sides and Velcro fasteners allow you to customize the fit, and the design supports movement without over-restriction. It is trusted by over 40,000 riders across North America for daily ranch work and competitive events.

Can I wear this vest with a helmet and face mask?

Yes. The vest is specifically recommended for riders who wear helmets or face masks during competition. The shoulder design does not interfere with standard rodeo helmets or protective headgear commonly used in barrel racing and bronc riding.

What materials are used in the padding and construction?

The HILASON vest uses high-quality shock-absorbing padding strategically compartmentalized in the chest, ribs, back, and tailbone areas. It features a high-quality lining fabric and is lightweight yet durable. The construction prioritizes impact energy dispersion across multiple zones to protect the rider.
