Frequently Asked Questions

What is a treeless western saddle and how does it differ from a traditional saddle?

A treeless saddle has no rigid wooden or synthetic tree structure, allowing it to flex and adjust with your horse's natural movement. This reduces pressure points, promotes better shoulder engagement, and accommodates horses with difficult conformation like high withers or wide shoulders. Traditional saddles with fixed trees can restrict movement and may not fit all horse shapes.

Will this treeless HILASON saddle fit my horse?

This saddle fits horses with 6 to 8 inch gullet sizes and is particularly well-suited for horses with high withers, wide shoulders, or unusual back shapes that struggle with traditional saddles. The treeless design adapts to your horse's individual conformation, making it one of the most versatile saddle options available.

What is included with this HILASON treeless saddle?

The complete set includes the treeless western saddle, matching hand-tooled bridle, leather collar, front cinch strap, and anti-slip stirrups. You have everything needed to start trail riding without additional purchases.

Is this saddle suitable for trail riding and endurance work?

Yes. The treeless design is ideal for trail riding, pleasure riding, ranch work, and endurance riding. The flexible construction reduces fatigue for both horse and rider on longer rides, and the lighter weight (21 lbs) compared to traditional saddles enhances performance.

Is the leather real and how durable is it?

Yes. This HILASON saddle is crafted from full grain harness leather - the highest quality leather available. The hand-tooled basketweave pattern is durable and resists wear through seasons of hard barn use and trail riding. Each saddle is hand-made one at a time by skilled artisans.

What sizes are available for this treeless saddle?

Available in 14", 15", 16", and 17" sizes to suit every rider style and preference.
