Frequently Asked Questions
What breed of horses is this walking horse bit designed for?
The Hilason walking horse bit is engineered specifically for gaited horses, especially Tennessee Walking Horses. It delivers the refined communication and responsive feel that gaited breed riders require for smooth gait performance in both show ring and trail environments.
Can I adjust the severity of this bit?
Yes. The interchangeable cheeks system lets you swap cheek pieces to customize the bit's severity and action. This flexibility eliminates the need to purchase multiple bits as your horse progresses through different training stages.
Is this bit stainless steel and will it rust?
Yes, this walking horse bit is fully stainless steel and is highly rust-resistant even in wet or humid conditions. Stainless steel is easier to maintain than other metals - simply rinse after use and dry thoroughly for long-lasting performance.
Why is this bit lightweight and does that affect control?
The lightweight stainless steel design minimizes unnecessary strain on your horse's head and neck during extended sessions, reducing fatigue without compromising control. The interchangeable cheeks provide adjustable severity, ensuring responsive communication while maintaining comfort.
