Frequently Asked Questions
What is a nylon trailer tie used for?
A nylon trailer tie is used to secure a horse to a tie ring inside or beside a horse trailer, or to any sturdy hitching point. It clips to the halter and keeps your horse in place while loading, hauling, resting at shows or waiting during trail riding trips.
Is this Hilason trailer tie adjustable?
Yes. This Hilason trailer tie has a buckle that lets you shorten or lengthen the strap. That helps you match the tie to your trailer setup and your horse, keeping slack under control while hauling or giving a bit more room at a hitching point. Exact length is not listed, so check the product details.
What is this horse trailer tie made of?
The strap is made of nylon, which is lightweight to handle and easy to wipe clean after muddy trips. It has a swivel bull snap on one end and a second snap on the other. The hardware material is not specified, so check the product details for exact specifications.
What color does this nylon trailer tie come in?
This Hilason nylon trailer tie is offered in blue, a solid color that is easy to spot on the trailer and easy to match with a blue halter and lead rope. It is a single standard option, so there is no size or color to choose when ordering.
How should I attach a trailer tie to my horse?
Clip one snap to the halter ring and the other to a sturdy trailer tie ring, then use the buckle to set the length. Tie only to solid anchor points, and keep the length short enough that your horse cannot get a leg over it. Always supervise your horse while tied.
Is this trailer tie a good value for everyday hauling?
Yes. Hilason designs tack to deliver professional quality without the premium price tag, and this trailer tie is built to last through seasons of hard use. The economical price makes it easy to keep one for each horse or a spare in the truck, trailer or tack room.
