Frequently Asked Questions
What is this product used for?
These are replacement saddle fenders designed to upgrade or repair existing Western saddles. They allow you to customize leg position, stirrup length, and style without replacing the entire saddle. Ideal for trail riding, ranch work, and everyday barn use.
Are these genuine leather fenders?
Yes, these replacement fenders are made from 100% genuine skirting leather, which is a high-quality full-grain leather chosen for durability and Western saddle construction. The leather resists scuffing and maintains shape through active riding.
What saddles do these fenders fit?
These replacement fenders fit most standard adult Western saddles with Blevins-style buckle attachments. The adjustable stirrup straps (20 to 33.5 inches) accommodate different leg lengths and saddle configurations. Check your saddle's fender attachment points before ordering.
How do I adjust the stirrup straps?
The Blevins-style buckles allow quick adjustment without tools. Simply loosen the buckle, move the stirrup strap to your desired length between 20 and 33.5 inches, and re-tighten. The holes along the strap let you find the exact fit for your leg length.
Do these fenders come with hobble straps?
Yes, this pair includes matching hobble straps designed to secure your horse's front legs during saddling or mounting. The straps attach via copper rivets and complement the floral design of the main fenders.
What is the hand-carved floral design on these fenders?
Hand-carved floral detailing is a classic Western saddle aesthetic. Each fender features a tooled leather pattern applied by hand, adding distinctive character and authenticity to your saddle setup. The carving also helps break in the leather naturally over time.
